Waukesha Catholic is proud to announce that there is now wireless access at all of our campuses. This was made possible by the generous donations to our 2013 auction “FUND-A.” It’s hard to see the infrastructure that was necessary to make this happen but without this critical upgrade, Waukesha Catholic would not have been able to move forward with our technology plan. Step one was to put the necessary infrastructure in place and step two was to deploy a plan that allows students to use tablet devices in their classrooms.
After careful consideration, Waukesha Catholic purchased 30 tablets called Learn Pads for our Early Education Campus at St. William. A Learn Pad is an Android device that has a unique educational overlay. It allows teachers to provide a safe, secure and customizable interface. For students, it means targeted, engaged learning through apps, activity sheets, presentations, video and online resources.
We are looking forward to step three which involves expanding the use of tablets at other campuses. The tools we use allow us to leverage learning.
Our goal is to allow all of our students to use technology in a rich way that enhances their learning, because ultimately it’s about sharing knowledge and information, communicating efficiently, building learning communities. Students and their learning remain our first and foremost responsibility.
THANK YOU for your generosity in making this happen at Waukesha Catholic!
